India is emerging as a key manufacturing-and-export hub as firms rewire supply chains for resilience. Exports are broadening beyond the US into West Asia (UAE, Saudi, Qatar, Oman), Europe (via Netherlands, Germany), East Asia (China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Japan, Korea), Africa and Latin America. Policy pushes—PLI, PM Gati Shakti and the National Logistics Policy—plus CEPA with the UAE and other trade talks underpin the shift. Electronics (notably smartphones), pharma, engineering goods and processed foods lead the charge, with exports to China and Hong Kong rising sharply in 2025.
