India is in talks with Washington to join Pax Silica, the U.S.-led alliance to secure the silicon/AI supply chain from minerals to semiconductors, after being left out at launch. U.S. Undersecretary Jacob Helberg signalled India could be added in early 2026 as the grouping expands. For New Delhi, accession would dovetail with its chip and critical-minerals push; for the bloc, India adds scale across design, manufacturing and market demand.
