Addressing an industry forum, Kumar Mangalam Birla said companies are relearning that “efficiency without resilience isn’t efficient,” and that over the next 10 years India’s expanding economic weight will influence how supply chains are designed, with manufacturing no longer anchored to one hub but split across India and China.
He cited India’s large market, growing industrial base, and stable democracy as advantages, and argued that by the mid-2030s India’s workforce will make it a crucial production node.
Birla’s remarks align with his recent annual reflections on a pragmatic, deals-based world order.
